  102. its installation. Detailed documentation is included in the package.

  104. GMW's documentation, and GMW has a context sensitive online help file
  105. that can be accessed while running GMW.

  173. IMPORTANT!!! Please Read:
  174.  
  175. The install program AND Grocery Manager REQUIRE that VBRUN200.DLL be in
  176. one of the directories in your path, your Windows directory, or your
  177. Windows System directory, or they won't run.
  178.  
  179. VBRUN200.DLL isn't included in this archive because many people already
  180. have it, it's big (357K), and it is very annoying to have a big file
  181. included that you already have. It can be found separately on many
  182. BBS'es and it is available on the WINSHARE forum on Compuserve as
  183. VBRUN2.ZIP.
  184.  
  185. Be sure a copy of VBRUN200.DLL is in your path, your Windows directory,
  186. or your Windows System directory, then follow the instructions below:
  187.  
  188.  
  189.               {{ UPGRADING FROM v.1.00 - V.2.02 }}
  190.  
  191. If you're currently using version 2.02 or older of GMW, and you want to
  192. continue using the information you've saved in the previous version,
  193. run the install program, but be sure to do the following before telling
  194. the install program to proceed:
  195.  
  196. 1) Select a different directory and Program Manager Group than your
  197.    current version.
  198.  
  199. 2) Deselect "Sample Data Files".
  200.  
  201. After installing this version, copy all the *.IS? files from your
  202. previous version's directory to the directory you installed this version
  203. in.
  204.  
  205. Run CONVERT.EXE (it's the CONVERT icon, if you let the install program
  206. make a Program Manager Group) to convert your existing data to this
  207. version's format. Click on the "Help" menu selection in CONVERT.EXE to
  208. read specific details about the conversion program. After successfully
  209. converting your data, you are ready to use this version of GMW.
  210.

  214. If you're currently using version 2.10 or newer of GMW, and you
  215. want to continue using the information you've saved in the previous
  216. version, DON'T use the install program. Instead, copy these files from
  217. the archive to your GMW directory:
  218.

  220.   GMW_DOCS.WRI
  221.   GMW.HLP
  222.  
  223.   You may delete the file SPIN.VBX, which should be in your GMW
  224.   directory. GMW no longer uses it.

  226.      {{ FIRST TIME INSTALLATION of GROCERY MANAGER FOR WINDOWS }}

  228. Automatic Install:
  229.  
  230. Unzip the GMW archive onto a floppy or into an empty directory on your
  231. hard drive. While in Windows, start INSTALL.EXE. You will be presented
  232. with a default directory and Program Manager Group for GMW to be
  233. installed into. These can be changed to anything you want, but please
  234. keep GMW in its own directory. Select "No" if you don't want a program
  235. group created for GMW (Install defaults to "Yes"), and then click on
  236. the start button. Click on the Exit button when the installation is
  237. complete, and then delete all files from the directory you unzipped
  238. the GMW archive into.
  239.  
  240. Manual Install:
  241.  
  242. Place VBISAMMX.DLL in your Windows System directory, create a directory
  243. for GMW, and place all remaining files into it.
  244.

  246.           {{ GMW SAMPLE FILES AND A QUICK TOUR OF GMW }}

  248. Included with GMW are some sample files so you can evaluate GMW without
  249. having to manually enter any data. These files are copied to your hard
  250. drive during the automatic installation. The sample files will enable
  251. you to see how Grocery Manager works.
  252.  
  253. Immediately after installing GMW, go to the View menu, and browse
  254. through the various screens to view. The sample files are set up so that
  255. you can view or printout a sample menu and shopping list without going
  256. through the usual steps to make one. Select Shopping List from the View
  257. menu. This is an example of what you would take to the grocery store.
  258. Select Menu from the View menu. This is a sample of a menu that shows
  259. what meals are planned on each day.
  260.  
  261. When you get to the point that you want to enter your own data, you may
  262. either modify the existing data, or delete it and start over. To
  263. completely delete the data and start over, be sure that GMW isn't
  264. running, and go to the directory that GMW was installed in and delete
  265. all the data files by typing the following command at a DOS prompt: "Del
  266. *.IS?".
  267.

  271. In an effort to make it easier for you to obtain your favorite software,
  272. the latest updates of many ASP authored programs can be found on the
  273. BBSs listed below.

  275. The latest version of Grocery Manager can be found on the ZENITH or
  276. WINSHARE forums on Compuserve, on America Online in the Computer &
  277. Software and the PCWorld areas and on the NWCS Online BBS
  278. (503-655-3927). Grocery Manager is also on the ASP's monthly CD-ROM that
  279. goes to every ASP BBS & Vendor member, so if you know of an ASP BBS, you
  280. should find Grocery Manager.

  389. Internet, or favorite Online service with the keywords UUENCode &
  390. UUDecode. Look for a program called WINCODE. It is a Windows program
  391. that UUEncodes & UUDecodes (and it is free).

  394. Receiving binary files on AOL is charged to you just like any other
  395. time you spend online in a non-free area.
